Days Are Back

You theatre buffs will love this. La Jolla Playhouse is offering Pay what you can days. This means you and your family will be able to purchase tickets on these days and pay whatever you like. The tickets are available on specified show dates those dates are posted on the members page. The only catch is...You have to be a member and sign in to gain access to the schedule. You can't even see them unless you sign in. Just one of the benefits of being a Fred's Playland Member. Take a look at the great restaurant deals while you're there. Hope to see you at the theatre.

We Miss You

Due to family matters Mr. Jason Keller has relocated to Ohio. Some of you might remember about a year and a half ago when AOL yanked the chain on our website. I wasn't sure what was going to happen to Fred's Playland. Since it was the only means I had to communicate with all of you, I was really worried. Like a knight on a horseback, Jason came to our rescue. Not only did he create this beautiful website and teach me how to maintain it. He did it in the true spirit of Fred's Playland. That's right, he didn't charge us a penny. We all owe Jason a huge debt of gratitude.

I'm proud to announce that I'm making Jason Keller Our first Hall of Fame Member.

Can you sneak away on a Monday?

Paramount studios and the Dr. Phil Show

has invited Fred's Playland for another visit.

The date is September 20th. The last time we attended the Dr. Phil Show he said we were the most fun group he had ever seen in the audience. Well, we're going to do it again. Our bus will be leaving early in the morning from the
First United Methodist Church in Mission Valley
2111 Camino Del Rio So, San Diego

We will spend the day watching two tapings of the show and will return to San Diego around 5:00pm. Paramount Studios is located in Hollywood Ca. The cost of this road trip is only $5.00 per person. and you must be over 16 years old to attend. This price will include your transportation and all your snacks, water & cocktails. Dinner will be at your expense. Where else can you find a trip like this for only $5.00?
 
I need your reservations as soon as possible because the buss will fill up fast. So check your dates, make sure you are available and get back to me Quickly. A Night at the Drive-In

September 11th is the date

This has always been a popular event with Fred's Playland. At one time California had more drive-in movies that any other state. Now there are just a handfull of these nostalgic gems left. On Sept. 11th we will be taking over the South Bay Drive-in.

We will meet at Pizza Hut at 1808 Coronado Ave, Chula Vista. Meeting time is 6:30pm. This will give us time to pick up some snacks at Pizza Hut. You can also bring all the food & drink you like. It's going to be like a big movie picnic. I may bring Margaritas on this trip. I think Long Island Ice tea is a little tough for the drive-in. The theater does not announce what's playing until a week in advance. I'll update you as to what we will be seeing as soon as that's posted but go ahead and RSVP anyway. You know it will be something good and it will be a great experience regrdless. I hope to see you all at the Drive-in.

We will all caravan to the movie about 7:30.

We will all park together so we can party.
Please be on time becasue last time we did this there were several people trying to find us in the dark and I was running around the theater like a loonie. You can bring your beach chairs, blankets, party hats and just about anything you like.

Admission is $7.00 per person. Kids 5 thru 9 are only $1.00. No dogs are allowed and the box office accepts cash only. See you there.
